Financial Information 2021

Cardijn College has an inclusive fee structure for students attending each of our three schools. Fee income is essential to providing the best education for your children and the operation of the College.

The billing system for 2021 will be as follows.

The entire year's fee will be billed in February 2021.  Payment in full is required by 31 December 2021 using one of the following two payment methods:

  1. Pay in full by 26 February 2021 to receive 5% discount on the tuition portion of the fees.
  2. Direct debit

For all families who do not elect to pay in full by 26 February 2021 a Direct Debit form will need to be completed with the first payment starting no later than 26 February 2021.  Direct debit payments can be made weekly, fortnightly or monthly. All direct debits will be administered through PaySmart and a direct debit form must be completed and returned to the College.

The College fee structure comprises:

  • Tuition Fee
  • Composite Fee (covers all compulsory fees not covered in the Tuition Fee) This fee includes a 24 hour basic insurance cover for each student.

Sibling Discounts

The following discount is given to families with more than one student at any of our three schools:

  • 2 Students 11% (applies to Tuition only)
  • 3 Students 20% (applies to Tuition only)
  • 4 Students or more 33% (applies to Tuition only)

Advance Payment

If the entire annual fee is paid in full by 26 February 2021, there will be a 5% discount available on the Tuition Fee component. This is in recognition of the assistance advance payment gives to the College's cash flow. The discount is unavailable for fees which are already receiving discounts other than Sibling Discount.

Families in Financial Difficulties (including School Card eligibility)

The College's fee policy ensures that all students are given the opportunity to succeed by offering:

  • Family Discounts
  • Significant fee remissions for families on low income

Families Eligible for School Card

All families eligible for school card are entitled to a 50% reduction in their Fees (inclusive of family discount).  Forms are available from the Finance Office or online at www.sa.gov.au

All School Card remissions will be applied on fee accounts once approval has been received from the Department for Education. Families are advised that where school card is applicable, the balance payable after school card discount is to be paid either in full prior to 26th of February 2021 or via regular direct debit commencing no later than 26th February 2021.

No further discounts will apply when students are in receipt of any scholarship.

Families Not Eligible for School Card

Families who do not qualify for school card, but who feel they would have difficulty in meeting the fee payment requirements due to their circumstances, may qualify for partial fee remission.
In accordance with College Policy, the following documents are required to assess eligibility:

  • Full Taxation return(s) for the current financial year;
  • Centrelink Summary Statement(s), showing all payments received from Centrelink;
  • Details of any other income received; and
  • Details of rent or mortgage paid per week or fortnight (Bank statements are sufficient).

Where there is a change in circumstances during the year, the family's income will be an average income over the entire school year.

Please contact the Finance Office on 8392 9500 to arrange an appointment with the Business Manager (Mr Johnny Ioannou) to discuss your situation.

All discussions and arrangements are in the strictest confidence.

Absence

Students who are absent from school for extended periods of time due to illness, injury or other reasons (e.g. travel or family commitments) are still liable for payment of full fees for the period of their absence.

Withdrawing from Cardijn College - Galilee

A notification period of one term must be given prior to a family withdrawing a child from the school.  A term's fee will be charged if a child is withdrawn without the required notification.

From time to time there are circumstances which prevent a family from giving adequate notification.  The Principal or Business Manager, at their discretion, may waive the one term notification period.  However, your request must be presented in writing.
