Middle School (Years 7 - 9)

Cardijn College Galilee is committed to best-practice middle schooling through an approach to teaching and learning that is student-centred, authentic, collaborative, developmental and challenging.

Programs in a range of subject and co-curricular areas focus on group dynamics, peer interaction and affirmation of achievement. Our students are encouraged to develop self-confidence through achieving success in significant events and to progressively develop a sense of who they are and of the personal, spiritual, and social values which will become part of their life.

Currently the school offers a contemporary teaching and learning program based on:

  • Crossways (for Religious Education)
  • The Australian Curriculum

The development of literacy and numeracy across all core subjects is a key focus of the Middle School Curriculum.

Cardijn College Galilee also offers a diverse range of enrichment subjects for Year 7 to 9 students aimed at fostering their creativity, practical skills, and understanding of the world around them. These enrichment subjects offer students a holistic and hands-on approach to learning, ensuring they develop both academically and creatively in a supportive and engaging environment.

Pathways

One of the highest priorities of the Galilee middle school is providing a seamless transition process for students into Year 10 and beyond. Students will have the option to continue their academic studies at Cardijn's Marian Campus at Noarlunga Downs or enter Marcellin Campus at Christie Downs to undertake a specialised trade or vocational program. Students at Marcellin are prepared to undertake a school-based apprenticeship while still achieving the SACE in a highly specialised training environment.
